Corporate Excellence Workshop - MBA - Dec 11th2010

Corporate Excellence workshop through Theatre
MBA Second year - Participants : 35

With Amma’s grace, we had a highly energetic group of MBA students taking the workshop today. We started the workshop at 10.30 a.m. and finished by 1.20 p.m. It was a powerful learning experience doing the facilitation for management students. The feedbacks were amazing and are as follows:

Team work at its best. Learnt more about coordination and time management – Planning and generation of ideas are keys to success in CT – Every small fragment was converted into a powerful idea and that is how we tasted success – Team work really helped us understand our potential – Learnt more about utilization of resources effectively – Everyone had the freedom to contribute for the success of the team – Everyone contributed from all ends to the maximum – There was a clear set of objectives defined with a good time frame to execute the production. Once we were clear about that, we performed to the fullest – Objectives, Creative ideas, full participation from all team members made us successful – Acceptance, constant innovation till the end, Everyone trying hard from their side helped us achieve better - team work and attitude to take on the role made CT successful – Creativity, Teamwork created the synergic effect in the team – Huge enthusiasm and everyone ‘s contribution made this possible – Listening to everyone’s ideas, processing it to a common conclusion made this successful – Creativity, team work and time management are the ones we learnt today – Everyone’s participation, management of resources and time management helped us come out successful – Great coordination and everyone’s contribution made everything productive – Adaptability and right kind of attitude can always make us move forward in life and we learnt it today again – We thought beyond the script and change of mind from reluctance to full participation made CT more colorful – Good team playing skills came into play with more freedom of expression and openness to listen made us deliver the script well – There was many things new to learn from CT, curiosity, eagerness to display our talents and attitude – Energy, Enthusiasm, Constant learning will give us success - - Willingness to get into action and coordinate well for the team to perform best – Proper cooperation, Utilisation of resources and Leadership are the key elements learnt today – Flexibility and adaptability are the ones that I learnt today – Eagerness to give the best, creativity and time management are the ones I saw in CT – Limited time frame helped us learn more about management today in a team – Wider ideas, Contribution from all, setting goals, freedom level, comfort level gave the production a new look and there was a healthy competition within the teams – Contribution as a team, listening to everyone’s ideas, accepting it and processing it for the goal of the team – Felt so relaxed and at the same time, was more conscious about my contribution for the success of the team – Attitude, Potential and good observation skills are the ones we learnt from CT.

At the end, student walked up to the stage and said that this is the first time that they had such a memorable and wonderful workshop where they learnt to work together as a single unit and would love to have more. They said they will do their best in the remaining 4 months and they realized the real importance of team work today.

We felt so good hearing this. What an energetic group ? May Mother bless them with rewarding careers was my prayer.

Myself and Sekharji thank Bijuji deeply for giving us the opportunity to facilitate CT after a gap of 10 months. Above all, We are indebted to Paul for mentoring us everytime, we do a workshop. Thanking CIR team for their wonderful support as always.

Experience

I dont know how to start, but let me put it straight...I lost my dad on July 24th...A day which will remain strongly etched in my life. In an adversity , we get to know , who our real wellwishers are. And i got to identify my people who came forward. Some people took this occasion as an opportunity to reunite..They did so..No regrets..

Some people voiced their opinions for/ against my closer ones...Life is a powerful learning experience...Pain and Pleasure are two things which play a major role in shaping a man's life..How do we really approach pain and pleasure decides everything in life...Sheer attitude is the key.

World is always looking for all gains. Be it money..Some people would really sympathize with the situation..Some people came with lot of happiness inside on hearing the death news, just sporting a mask of sorrow on their face..just to see how we are suffering..

My god, I understood that this world is moving towards a different path...

Love, Values, Compassion - Where do i get to buy these ? I don't know..

[Faith, Prayer, Regular Exercise routine, Discharging the duties with priorities ] - altogether a proper Routine is really making me come out of it..Many days of lost sleep adds more to the misery....Life is hell...Life is sweet...life is terrible..Life is all the way how we look at it...It is all in our own mind..

Our mind needs to be mentally very strong to combat all challenges in life..There are only good experiences in life..Nothing bad...Staying positive is the key..Staying in touch with our references really gives confidence..

My relations, friends, colleagues, students, participants of my workshop are the biggest source of my strength...They are small small tools of god(GURU) in human form trying their best to give me life..

Challenges keeps us alive..Give us direction and goals helps reach our destination..

Keep Smiling..Keep praying..

Sanathana Dharma

The Religion

Sanatana Dharma, "The Law Eternal", is the more appropriate or rather the accurate name for the religion which is now known as "Hinduism". The word Hinduism is not the original name for the religion. It is a name aquired in later historic times, while the religion has been in existence since timeless beginning. This religion has its roots in the "Vedas" which are scriptures of the highest wisdom and which originated with creation itself. It was not a founded religion, it was based on revelations directly from God himself to the seers during their transcendental and intuitive communion with the Divine. It was the Dharma and code of life for men of Bharat or Aryavarta from times immemorial, i.e., from even the pre-historic and most antique ages.

The religion was used to be known as "Vaidika Dharma" or "Vedanta", as it has the Vedas for its authority and source (Vedokhilo Dharma Mulam); it is also called Sanatana Dharma as it delineates and embodies values and doctrines which are of eternal validity. Sanatana Dharma stands for "Rita" - the majesty of moral and spirtual law. It looks upon the whole universe as being under the purview of a moral law and subserving to the supremacy of God, its creator. Times may change, ages may roll by, continents may rise and disappear, but values of life like truth, love, compassion, one's duty to mother, father, preceptor and to fellow beings, and the eternal reality of the spirit and unity of all life, are truths and values that subsist and will subsist for ever. These are the eternal values and truths which are embedded in the Vedas and are embodied in the religion that had evolved out of Vedas. These values being of eternal validity and universality, are the justification for the religion that embody them, for being called as Sanatana Dharma, the eternal Dharma, law/religion.

The word "Hindu" was of a far, far later origin; during the Greek period of history, Greeks and West Asians used the term Indu/Hindu with reference to the people living beyond the banks of the River Indus, and later the name began to be ascribed to the religion of the land also. 'Hindu' thus has only a geographical connotation and derivation; but, nevertheless, it has come to stay.

Hinduism exhorts people to abstain from all violence by thought, word and deed to any being or creature. "Ahimsa Paramo Dharmaha" - "Veneration of all life" (because everything is enveloped by God); "Isavasyamidam Sarvam" - "God inheres in all beings"; these are the basic, primary and fundamental tenets of Hinduism.

To sum up the whole essence of the Hindu religion and philosophy: "Love for all beings and love for God"- this is the essence of Hinduism, and as a matter of fact, it is the essence of all religions too. Anyway Hinduism can be said to be the most primeval and, so to say, as the mother of all religions.

HABITS !!!

Habits

Our character, basically, is a composite of our habits. “ Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character and reap a destiny.” Habits are powerful factors in our lives. They are consistent and constantly, daily, express our character and produce our effectiveness or ineffectiveness.

Habits can be learnt or unlearnt. This involves a certain process and a tremendous commitment.

A habit is the intersection of knowledge, skill and desire. Knowledge is the theoretical aspect, the ‘what to do’ and the why. Skill is the how to do. Desire is the motivation, the want to do. To form a habit we need to have all three; but most of all we must have the desire in a fairly strong measure. The important question is, therefore, how to get children to form good habits; and that too habits based on abstract qualities? The answer could possibly be in giving the children some activity that might give them the experience of that quality. For example let us take the quality Compassion, which according to Amma, is love in action. If we expose the children to human misery and suffering by taking them on a visit to a government hospital, an orphanage, a leper colony, or a school for handicapped children, it is possible that some of the children may be deeply moved and the visit may have a lasting impression on them. Parents, Mentors, Teachers should use their imagination and ingenuity to organize such activities, which could give the children an experience of the abstract quality we wish them to inculcate.

Jai Ho...
